5L 6spd Manual 2013 Mustang GT Review

A few things make the 2013 Mustang GT stand alone over previous years….

  • 420 horsepower, an 8 hp gain over last years 2012.
  • Functional hood scoops on the GT.
  • Rocker panels are once again body color on the 2013 GT’s, from 2005-2009 V6 mustangs rocker panels were black plastic material while the GT’s were painted body color, from 2010-2012 All V6 and GT’s rocker panels were black plastic.
  • Deck lid panel has gone to the all gloss black appearance around the tailights, a popular upgrade used by many earlier year mustangs by using either a magnetic black panel or a snap in metal panel to give the rear end a “tougher” Mach 1 or Saleen look.
  • Hill assist for manual transmission cars

2013 Mustang GT review drive

While driving the 2013 Mustang GT review car, a feature that really stood out to me and I would have loved to have when I first learned to drive a manual transmission, is the hill assist. The car detects when you are on a slope, wether it be an incline that you’re stopped at a light, or a decline that you need to back out of a parking spot from, the car will let you release the brake and give you  time to make the transfer to the gas pedal without the car rolling up/down the slope. Genius!

The specific car that I reviewed was the ” Grabber Blue ” color.

  • 20″ American Racing Wheels accented with ” grabber blue ” pin striping
  • Brembo Brake package
  • MAGNAFLOW exhaust
  • Black Leather seats accented with ” grabber blue ” stiching
  • leather steering wheel accented with ” grabber blue ” stiching
  • Matte black quarter window louvers
  • Matte black rear spoiler
  • Tinted all the way around, including tail lights
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Lowered suspension

Ford has been continously stepping up there game , and this 2013 Mustang is evidence.
